    Default Meeting For Drinks

Editing done in Lightroom 2 which seem a good upgrade but saves photos extremely slow on my 1 gb ram computer.

Jim this is really beautiful. The colours, clarity and composition are wonderful.

Excellent, Jim. I love it. Did you add one of these, or are they both real?

Thanks for the very nice comments.
Both butterflies are real but the colors, particularly the one on the viewers' right, have been significantly altered. It was a uniform, drab, brownish color.
Of course it has been cropped and a vignette applied.

Jim, I don't know if it's the screen on my laptop, or maybe just me, but I'm not real crazy about the look of this. Composition looks good, maybe a tad tight on the right, but otherwise fine. There is just something about the butterflies that looks flat to me. I'm not seeing the detail on their bodies like I want to. The flowers seem fine, so it might be just the adjustments you did to these critters.

I don't mean to be too critical. I check it later on my other computer and see how it looks on the other screen.

Be as critical as you wish. I too think it is a little tight on the right but, to me, it looked better than the other choices I tried using the square crop. The right hand butterfly had more adjustments to it because of the color and because of the f 2.8 the DOF left it much softer than the one in the center. I tried to mitigate the softness by selective sharpening which falls into a more subjective appearance area.

    Thanks for commenting.
